Here’s your portrait session guide
Everyone loves the *perfect* portrait that shows their personality … whether you want a formal head-shot, a contemporary portrait or timeless family photo with all 3 generations together!
There’s no defining structure and each session is a little different – tailored to suit your lifestyle, the love between your family or the fun you have with friends. One things for sure – you want to look fabulous and capture a little of the life, love and character of you or your family.
How do I get hold of you?
Each session starts with a phone call – that way we can get to know each other a little better. This is your time to ask lots of questions and share your niggles about booking a professional photographer. Most people worry about looking good in front of the camera, whether your little cherubs will behave or what will happen if dad shows he feels a little put-upon.
It is important that I put you at ease and that you feel comfortable on the day – and it all starts with that first conversation.
Where will the session take place?
Right by your home – I specialise in outdoor locations that use the beauty of natural light. If you have a special place in mind – tell me about it!
I love going to places that hold a special meaning for my clients. Don’t worry if you do not have a spot in mind. I have so many photo location options, so tell me what you are looking for.
Most of my clients choose the natural settings, but if you are looking for a more urban shoot I have plenty of locations for that too!
How long will the session take?
I am all about making you really stand out during your session! I get to know each of you for who you are, I then work to make sure you experience a session that you are proud of! We’ll often spend one or two hours together, yours is the only session of the day, so there’s no rush.
Family sessions are all about showing the love you share for each other. Please come to the photo shoot ready to have fun. Family and children sessions are usually very high energy!
What do I need to bring?
As much or as little as you’d like. Use a small sports bag or ‘trolly-dolly’ to carry a selection of clothing and accessories. The more colorful and layered your outfits are, the more they will pop!
Bring the whole wardrobe if you like – but be true to yourself. My welcome pack offers advice on including shoes, lingerie, jewellery, hats, glasses, scarves, and anything else you love wearing.
What can I do with my images?
Ask your photographer which images will suit a large piece of art for your wall, let them know if you want to order prints to give away to family and friends or an album created especially for you?
