Appley Park is an easy location to use for your portraits
Each family has their own vision of what makes the perfect Saturday afternoon. I love reading the tit-bits people share on their questionnaire (but I’ve been sworn to secrecy). In Ryde, Saturday afternoon finds me browsing the food market, tasting samples in the chocolate shop and enjoying a coffee along Appley beach. What makes each family unique is their outlook on life, which is why the focus of my photography is about capturing the vitality of each person, through a relaxed and unscripted style. The result? Spontaneous portraits that convey the very essence of a person in a natural way.
#1 Be yourself
Wear clothes, choose locations and arrange a style that suits your personality. Anything else will result in disappointing photographs. Your photographer will suggest a whole range of possibilities: a lifestyle shoot in a coffee shop, browsing through a flea market, walking along Ryde’s beach or watching a friendly five-a-side game in a park.
#2 Be happy
Photo sessions are a treat. A special experience. Embrace the session with fun, freedom, and playfulness. Allow yourself to get into the swing of things. If you feel confident, this will shine through. These guides will help you feel prepared.
#3 Be confident
What makes your portrait unique is the smile in your eyes. Focus on your outlook on life. Don’t worry about making a daft mistake. To some of us standing in front of the camera comes naturally, for most people we can ‘learn’ elegant framing. When we meet I’ll share my tricks that always work …
“Working with Mandy was really amazing, and I enjoyed the time with her! She is very friendly and in 10 minutes, I was feeling more comfortable! I wish I could work again with her, because I think I’m very lucky to have this nice pictures!! I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you a lot Mandy”
