Summer portrait sessions in Ryde, Hampshire
Here are some gorgeous summer portrait sessions that took place in one of my very favourite locations in Ryde. I have lots of summer portrait sessions booked there over the next few weeks, so I thought it was the perfect time to share these glorious photographs and share what to expect from a portrait session with ‘Amanda Herbert Photography’. So ……….
She’s a multi-tasking professional, solvent, life-and-soul kinda gal, embracing life to the full.
She wants pictures that are authentic, flattering and gives a true sense of who she is. I suspect she’s a little afraid of feeling foolish in front of the camera.
Megan could be your friend, co-worker, sister or gym buddy.
She works long hours, likes to keep fit, shops with her sister and takes cares of her friends.
She wants outdoorsy portraits, ones that share her outlook on life. Yoga on the beach, cycling in France and drinks in the No8 bar, late at night.
She wants to show the inner confidence like Kate Middleton with the humour of Sara Pasco.
Megan’s time is short and life an endless whirl wind of urgency, yet finding the right photographer is like turning a new page, a chance to write your own future.
Here’s how she got through the session ……
She calls early to check availability. Doubt in her voice, “I need a photo and one that makes me look good, do you only photograph people in your studio?”
Hesitation makes her slightly fearful, a frustrated sigh signaling she just wants to get this done.
“I hate having my photograph taken, no-one wants to work for just one picture”.
It’s a real concern, the internet’s awash with glossy websites – all model poses and studio lights.
Having your photograph taken is a like learning to ride a bike, your brain tells you it’s not a good idea, but your heart yearns for the exhilaration.
Megan needs a professional photo for her new job as Manager at Bar8, a welcoming face to attract the right clients. This was just the start to reaching more clients, ensuring sales and establishing herself as a credible newcomer.
Here’s how Megan transformed her photos …
… by choosing the right location.
A thoughtful photographer will listen to her ideas, whilst suggesting a few of her own.
The right place is the first solution – somewhere that’s comfortable, practical and a true reflection of her personality.
On the day we banter like guests on the Graham Norton show, new connections, common ground. We’re on our best behaviour like guests on a chat show. All nervous excitement and exhilaration.
Walking to a quiet corner, I give my pep talk:
When we were young our bikes had stabilisers. Grandparents would run alongside us, quick to steer the handlebars, a hand on the back seat. With one final push, a whoop of exhilaration – we’re off!
You did it! Riding forth, confident. A whoop of achievement.
Sessions with me are designed with real people in mind. Let me show you how to stand confidently in front of the camera, I can steer you forward, with a guiding hand and a final push in the right direction.
You don’t have to do it by yourself, we’ll take it slowly, just like learning to ride a bike!
