The definitive guide to natural portraits

definitive guide to portraits

Will I get direct support from you for my photoshoot?

GO TO PART 2 HERE

I’m a sucker for planning, styling, and sharing all the little tidbits that other photographers like to keep secret. Key to my customer service is my pledge to look after you, personally, every step of the way.

I have a visual round-up of ideas in my 12 pages ‘what to wear guide’, an illustrated brochure showing you how to wear make-up to ensure you’re picture ready and a 20-page ‘session guide’ magazine giving you an insight into the photographer’s world and the process we’ll go through together in an illustrated collection.

Will this session teach me how to look good in front of a camera?

Smiles and laughter – two elements that can transform a picture. My sessions pave the way for natural, modern portraits in scenic settings. I do this by chatting with you, asking you questions, sharing a story. For me, your photographs need to capture a moment – it sounds cliched but it’s true.

We’ll go for a walk, I’ll suggest watching the ducks and as you tell me about their antics I’ll press the shutter. Right there, a little slice of your life, a natural smile, and a stylish portrait – just by feeding the swans around the canoe lake.

I just want a quick snapshot, 1 or 2 pictures at the most, is this still for me?

I’ve got good news! I’ll soon be offering a series of mini sessions based on 1 location and 1 outfit, which will be perfect for smaller experiences when you just need to update your photos. Keep your eyes peeled – I only offer these sessions twice a year – so subscribe to the mailing list and receive the latest updates and details, and be notified when registration opens.

What if I’ve never worked with a professional photographer before?

The photographs you see on this website are people who contacted me directly. They are real people, not models. They also had real reservations about their session, which is why I explained my approach HERE using a genuine person. Or here for another Bembridge session.

Do I need to buy a new outfit?

Yes! That’s the answer you wanted to hear, right?

Or choose coordinated outfits from your existing wardrobe – head over there now and make a mental checklist:

  1. one outfit with chunky knits / cashmere
  2. one outfit with bold colours / graphic prints
  3. one outfit with neutrals with one bright colour

I want a nice image of myself, but I don’t know which images I need.

You don’t need to make any decisions – simply book a time and date – once you’ve seen your pictures on a beautiful slide show, you’ll immediately recognize, “that’ll look good by the kitchen window” or “I want to use that photo on my dating website”.

I make the session feel more personal for my clients by involving them in the creative process. Years of working with children give me a unique insight into how to put people at ease. Taking pride in my bespoke service, I want to make my services to the highest standard – my photography is simple but stylish and needed by modern women!

How do I book?

I’m here to help. Call, email or ask to meet in a coffee shop. A personal consultation over the phone or in-person is the perfect way to see if I’m your type of person. Use these 3 questions to ask your photographer. When you’re ready to reserve your date, use this private booking form to make your £50 deposit.

What happens after I book?

Once payment has been successful, you will receive an email to confirm your date and chosen location. A link to access your client files including session guide, commission form, client agreement, FAQs document, print size support, what to wear suggestions, and makeup guidance.  The sooner you read through your session guide magazine, the more time you will have to look through these guides and ask me any final questions before we meet.

By the time of your session you’ll:

  • email me a snapshot of your outfit
  • chatted with me on the phone the day before your session
  • have packed 3 outfit choices in a small bag
  • feel confident about when and where we’ll meet

Will I be able to share my photos on Facebook?

I’m certainly no expert, but I’m a big believer in sharing my life with others. As a tea fiend, lover of google, and Instagram addict – social media is what’s all about nowadays. I’ve had my photographs used for Twitter montages, Instagram mock-ups, and blog-loving.

You’ll only need 1 headshot for your Linkedin profile, but once you’ve seen 30 carefully crafted photos in a beautifully presented slide show, you’ll realise the importance of sharing your photos for posterity.

Can I ask further questions after our photoshoot?

At the end of our 2-hour photoshoot in Seaview, I’ll sit down once again with you and explain the final process of viewing, selecting, and ordering your prints. You’ll leave with another FAQ as well as a follow-up email ensuring you know exactly when you’ll see your photos and how to choose your favourite images.

My aim is simple – to ensure a truly wonderful experience.  I customise each photo session, from the beginning of the shoot right until your items are delivered. My goal is to personally look after you every step of the way. That way I know you’ll get a service that is second to none.

If you’re interested in trying this for yourself, I’m only a phone call away: 07719316609
