The secret behind Megan’s smile?

“Your smile is the most attractive thing you can wear”

Make no mistake, I knew I had to meet Megan when I read this quotation on her Instagram account, and I’m so glad she agreed to join me in Sandown for her portrait session.

Radiant is the best way to describe photographing Megan for the first time.

Every conversation sends ripples of laughter into the air, mixing with the booming crash of the winter waves under the Sandown pier.

Imagine the scene …

  • Hiding from the parking warden
  • Scrabbling around for loose change
  • A shared look, a warm smile

Does that sound like a stuffy photo shoot? Or something taken from the glossy pages of Vogue, perhaps? You might not believe me, but I assure you: meeting a stranger for the first time and creating smiling portraits is not make-believe. Megan is very genuine and engaging, chuckling to herself as she battles the sea wind lashing her coiffured hair.

The embodiment of her quotation, a beautiful canvas inviting smiles and laughter to burst forth. Like the lashing wind challenging us, she whips up excitement and positivity.

It’s exhilarating.

One of the things you’ll notice about Megan – her confidence. It just feels right.

How?

The short answer: by being true to herself.

To create natural portraits, relax and let the photographer guide you through the session.

Smiles and laugher set the tone. Megan asks lots of clever questions, making me pause and reflect. It’s this natural engagement that shines in her smiles, she’s a natural at making things fun.

When you connect with people, when you build up a rapport, when you take an interest in what others are doing, your photos naturally become a mirror to your personality. And Megan knew this instinctively.

It all starts with you.

Commit today, this week or next month, to getting in touch with a friend with a camera, a professional photographer, or a pal with a phone and take a photograph that is your best ever yet. Not just for Instagram. When life is busy, it’s too easy to forget to smile.

It’s never too late to have photographs that you want – and that you need and deserve to shine.
I’m counting on you!

I had my first photoshoot today with Amanda. The communication leading up to the shoot was perfect! very professional and informative. This shoot was on location, and despite a few obstacles such as the wind, change in sun and the fact it was very cold, we created some beautiful images. Amanda is very easy going and friendly, great to work with and i feel honored to have been able to work with her. would highly recommend. And look forward to working with her in the future
