When do you book baby photography?
If I asked you to picture baby photography, do you think of a calm, serene mum wearing glamorous clothes, an impossibly happy family laughing together, a too-cute baby nibbling on cakes, or a nice family with several ugly-pug dogs outside their beautiful new house?
Whatever your impression of family photoshoots – and whether you like it or hate it – have you ever considered that they are for your baby too?
The family. We were a strange little band of characters.
Bombeck’s description hits the nail on the head. The daily grind of getting the family out of the door for school or a get-together is not always easy. With my family, dad will always be prevaricating, last to the door. Little sis will be all dressed up with two coats to guard against the cold. Mum will be ready, directions printed, car boot packed, and snacks in the glove compartment.
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another’s desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. – Erma Bombeck
When should you book your baby’s portraits?
When it feels right for you. If you have a baby that is already sitting or crawling, work in a busy job or have a set idea on the type of baby photos you want, talking to your photographer as soon as possible will be your best bet.
Getting in early means that you get the best for your family and will be able to take a step back, letting the photographer take over the stress for you. This is especially important if having the photographs is something that you want, but get too stressed to arrange.

Hi there I would like to book a photo session for my son and daughter in law as a Christmas gift. I will be traveling to Ryde before Christmas but would be very happy to pay before.
It might be lovely to have it done whilst we are there.
I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks so much
