Ryde Baby Photographer
One of my favourite families got in touch again recently to update Theo’s profile. This little chap is with an agency and needed to update his portfolio, especially as he seems to be growing so quickly.
“Hi Amanda, hope you are well. I was just wondering if you we’re doing any more mini-sessions as would love to do another one with you and Theo in the summer?”
“The pictures are really lovely, thank you so much for doing them for us. You’re a star” Isle of Wight, Baby photography in Ryde
We met again in my Livingroom studio, Ryde. I love to make contact with old friends and to make people laugh during the session, even when they shouldn’t. I love the ease of working with people who come back again because they trust your professionalism.
My brief was to produce photographs that are natural and beautiful.
Fresh, crisp and authentic portraits are a passion and meeting Theo and mum was just perfect. Always full of smiles, it was simple to create images that define my style – honest, authentic and engaging.
I really wanted to produce a set of images that would stand out from the crowd. Mum is very proactive with the agency and it was important to create a portfolio that reflected this.
Portraits can seem flat without the magic ingredient – expression. I want to convey the simple honesty of a baby’s smile when he sees mum.
Playing with babies during their sessions is key to getting along. Supporting new mothers and making the session as easy as possible is important, which is why we met in Newport and drove to Ryde together.
Making sure my Livingroom Studio is warm and cozy also helps, as does the endless cups of tea, snacks, time for feeding, and soothing white noise in the background.
See how the simplicity of Theo watching mum laugh creates a beautiful photograph (I encouraged her to say ‘daddy has smelly socks’).
My favourite colour is golden pastels – it’s calming colour offers a luminous glow to baby’s features and attracts the eye in a natural setting.
It’s easy to see why this session was so fun …. with one adorable baby and a mother who love each other (plus a photographer that likes to have fun).
I’m a warm and laidback family photographer in Ryde and the Isle of Wight. With boundless energy, I capture your family’s love and laughter to produce storytelling images for boisterous families, loving couples, and informal get-togethers.
