Photographer for professional headshots
It is Nerea’s very visible ability to communicate that makes her different from other au pairs I’ve worked with. She got in touch when she needed professional headshots that were smiley and not stern. She told me: “I’m quite a camera shy and self-conscious. I’ve also never been professionally photographed in this way before. Your work stands out to me because of your clear commitment to making people feel at ease. Because of this, I believe I would feel comfortable having my photo taken by you!”
Though she mostly works in social media management and communications for crowdsourcing, she is flown to California with her host family to help the children settle into a new life. Most recently she’s shared her insights into how photographers can improve their social media presence and I’d say her knowledge is invaluable.
Nerea is a popular friend – happy, beautiful, and breathtaking – every smile, giggle and laughter is captured in her photographs. We met in a local Park for her portrait session, tucked at the end of a winding land in a quiet pocket of on the island. The rural displays hidden from street view remain calm, soothing presence, perfect for meeting new people for the first time.
Nerea wanted to avoid stuffy, serious poses, she told me “I’m always smiling; I don’t want to look stiff”. Preferring to evoke feelings of home, the warmth of Spain in the summer, ready smiles that permeate our memories, my goal was to put Nerea at ease immediately.
Looking through these photos, it’s a measure of Nerea’s sweet nature, her ability to communicate, and her perfect smile, reaching the eyes. Positivity shines like her smile.
There’s a magic to Nerea. She has a generosity of spirit and in many ways is a very beautiful person. Looking at these photos, I think you get to see that.
Our time is up. I say goodbye to Nerea after two hours near her home. “I can’t wait to see the photos we’ve made together,” she says as we wave goodbye.
And I can’t wait to share them.
I spent a great afternoon with Mandy. We went to a park near my house to do the photo shoot and even if the weather wasn’t the best at the beginning the photos looked awesome at the end! Mandy is a lovely woman, with an exceptional touch for photography. She is very friendly and you feel comfortable since the very beginning (even if you don’t know each other as it was our case!). I just can say, thank you very much Mandy! It was an incredible experience and now can’t wait to do it again :).
I produce stylish portraits for modern women that are neither cliched nor formulaic. The portraits in my portfolio are full of character and detail, captured during relaxed sessions that are ever-practical and fun – so they are easy on the purse strings and appreciated by couples or families too.
