What to expect from a photo session with me …
Be Prepared to Have your Assumptions Gumptioned!
Everyone loves a great photo that they can use for Facebook, on e-cards to friends, or simply for on-line profiles however the way to glorious results is a little different with me.
There’s no defining structure for what we’ll get up to, as everyone’s different. Going with the flow works best for natural smiles and pictures that you want to treasure forever.
Here’s all you need to know in a nutshell and I hope it puts your mind at ease.
What I Won’t Do
Whether it’s a photo of you on your own or a family portrait I won’t ask you to stand up straight, smile for the camera and look straight at the flash! These methods went out in the Victorian age, I want to capture life, I want to capture your life and I want your photo to be buzzing with energy!
Everyone wants the photo that doesn’t looked staged and that’s exactly what I like to produce, so why do I ask you to tell me about your dreams, hopes and fears?
I do this not only to lighten the mood, but to capture you at your best, the magic after the question, when you relax and have a little giggle about the silliness of it all is what I want, not the staged look before! I’ll never make you look stupid, remember, your happiness is my business.
If I can’t make you look your best, I’m in the wrong profession!
The More the Merrier
Sometimes you’re at your most relaxed when you’re in the company of someone you trust. A partner, a best friend, even your mum will see a side of you that has never been caught on camera before. That’s why I encourage you to bring someone along, make it a date, relax unwind and have a chat and a giggle, I’ll be in the background taking that perfect shot!
My first task is to make you relax, don’t worry you’ll never feel self-conscious as you’ll never make a bigger fool of yourself as I do! We’ll do this in a variety of ways, depending on how you’d like to be captured and what you’d like the outcome to be.
We can dance we can shout, we can shake it all about. We can chat, we can sing or we can kick everything. Basically, anything that ensures your tension subsides, your confidence grows and your smiles keep coming is good enough for me!
Don’t Just Stand There!
We won’t simply stand about. You have arms and legs and I’d like to see them moving. How about sitting? Laying down, jumping in the air, twirling, bending, leaning, posing, stamping, clapping, peeking, pointing, you’ll be amazed how others see you in action!
Once you’re happy that I’m not going to blind you, trip you up or ask you to gurn for the camera, I’ll be coming up close. So close you’ll probably hear me breathe (I brush my teeth don’t worry) but it produces some amazing results. Just take a look at my portfolio; you’ll see the smiles defined for all to see. I want you to be the star of the show, not the scenery behind!
Practice Your Vowels
As a teacher I can’t help bringing a little literacy into the mix but not in the way you think. Before you come, practice saying the vowels and see how you expression changes. Some models use this tip to give the most incredible looks!
Live the Dream
Have you always dreamed of being a supermodel, an actress, even a magazine model where people will snap you looking your most glamorous and declare you to be the best Diva in town? Now’s the time to live that dream, if you want to be a glamour puss, let it out, show me your moves and release the diva within, let me utter those three little words that I don’t get to say often enough, “work it baby!”
In summary, you’re not simply turning up to an outdoor location, standing in a line and being snapped by a silent photographer, you’re having a fun day out where every laugh and giggle will be caught on camera!
