What I most like about photography is the moment that you can’t anticipate – Isle of Wight – Ryde Portrait Photography –
My mother taught me to appreciate a job well done. As a child I attended Red Cross, Brownies, Guides, Swimming, Gymnastics, Dance and Outward Bound. You name it, I did it. At the time I resented the impingement on my free time, but hindsight has shown me just how right she was! My home is full of colour coded boxes, neatly stacked tins of beans and coordinated shoes. I still can’t dance though and it’s been a long time since I could reach my toes. The benefits? Total commitment to each client.
“A photograph isn’t necessarily a lie, but nor is it the truth. It’s more of a fleeting, subjective impression. What I most like about photography is the moment that you can’t anticipate: you have to be constantly watching for it, ready to welcome the unexpected.” – Martine Franck
When I met with Jamie for his lifestyle shoot it was bitter cold, grey and you could taste autumn in the air. You wouldn’t guess though. Learning how to present yourself naturally has been one of the key points in developing my photo sessions, and this is a big part of why I also enjoy teaching it during my lifestyle sessions in Ryde. Not only do I anticipate moments, but create them by making connections right away.
Anticipate Moments
- be friendly
- ask questions
- share interests
The key to producing great photos each time?
Storytelling.
It’s the storytelling that continues to keep my passion for family photography today. It’s the story of your everyday family moments – perhaps a discovered love one or newly arrived family members? My images are thoughtful, beautiful, and authentic, just like my returning clients.
How I’ll look after you
I custom each photo session, from the beginning of the shoot right until your items are delivered. My goal is to personally look after you every step of the way. That way I know you’ll get a service that is second to none. You can thank mum for this level of dedication.
