“I hired Mandy for one of her portrait shoots in Appley Park and I can tell, she work style and personality brings the people at ease. She gives so great instruction what easy to follow and also she knows lots of tricks to get the most out of little toddlers. Looking at her images, I truly believe her talent and I highly recommend Mandy.” ~ Baby session for a 3 year old, Isle of Wight
We bonded over our love of glitter – Dollie-Rae with her twinkle-toe shoes, me with a shiny new pedicure. Unicorns anyone?
Our second love? Taking photos. The final beach portrait is taken by Dollie (and it’s just about in focus)!
Trembling fingers, eagerly outstretch to grasp the camera, I nervously wrap the neck strap around Dollie’s fingers, “say cheese daddy” we laugh as Dollie takes a ‘photo’ of her dad on Appley beach.
She might have had just a little help to keep the camera steady.
Back in 2014, Jamie and I met up when he needed some headshots for his modeling profile, within a week he was hired for a paying gig which resulted in his photograph emblazoned across Isle of Wight bus-stops across the island. You can see his acting headshot photos taken in Puckpool Park here.
Six years later, Jamie is eager to celebrate fatherhood, and his pride and love for Dollie which is why you can hear me singing, “Baa Baa black sheep” and playing hide and seek around the old oak trees on Appley golf course.
With over 26 years in education, I’m in my element … whispering “where’s Dollie, “I creep towards a rambunctious child laughing with unfettered delight as she hides behind the park furniture. I don’t think Jamie quite expected me to roll around on the floor giggling, but you can’t deny the results.
Beautiful portraits of an excited toddler, spontaneous laughter, and precious moments captured for eternity. And I managed to update Jamie’s modeling portraits whilst simultaneously throwing leaves towards Dollie to keep her entertained, but more of that on another day.
I was delighted to work with Jamie and Dollie-Rae this week, laughter truly is the best medicine. See what other people say about my expressive portraits.
You can enjoy a full set of studio baby portraits here. A huge thank you to Jamie for his humour, energy, and optimism (and for not laughing at me when I rolled down the grassy hill).
