Here’s my ode to Holly. She’s da bomb.
What I really mean, is that she’s really, really good at what she does.
After reading my glorious review from a fellow photographer, I thought I’d share some behind the scene pictures to explain why I admire Holly so much.
I cannot begin to thank Amanda enough. She was brilliant from start to finish and I absolutely love the photos she took of me. If you’re thinking of having a session with her, just do it – You will not regret it!
#1 Understanding the story behind the picture
I mean, look at that finger placement. Perfection. She taught me a new trick, Holly calls it ‘Fairy Fingers’. During our planning stage, Holly revealed, “I’m no model”. Well I have over 900 views on FB with countless positive comments from your friends that would argue otherwise.
As a wedding photographer, Holly places this much careful attention to her happy couple, making sure they look elegant yet natural. By paying close attention to the details, she watches the moment unfold and then captures all the emotion, no need to over direct and manipulate the day.
#2 Confidence
A fellow photographer and online friend observed, you don’t notice what Holly is wearing or my gorgeous control of lighting (*cough*) because Holly’s eyes draw you in. It’s easy to photograph beautiful people, I’ve said in my last post HERE, but it’s not Holly’s pretty face that holds your attention. It’s a quality within her soul: here is a girl that values herself, is confident in her chosen profession and is open to sharing ideas with ‘competitors’ because she isn’t threatened by some else’s success.
If you’re hiring a wedding photographer, you’d want someone who’s able to confidently navigate the frenetic activity of wedding celebrations with ease and aplomb. With Holly, you’d have that in spades.
#3 Joy
Secretly, I enjoy sharing behind the scene pictures. That’s where the real story lies. On Facebook I always share my chosen ‘Hero Shot’, but it’s often the lead up the photograph that reveals how I craft my images. Like a chef preparing his favourite dish: adding salt, tasting and adjusting until his signature style is achieved. Look at the images below, you can see the crescendo rise and fall until we arrive at an open and honest gaze that’s full of expression and joy. That’s my signature style.
Holly understands this craft and embraces the joy in photographing your wedding day: she’s there to help you with the flowers, to provide an umbrella to shelter you from the rain and is quick to laugh during the emotional turmoil that is your perfect wedding day.
Looking for someone to take your wedding photographs? Feel like you’ve got absolutely nothing done for your wedding day? Scrolling mournfully through your Pinterest boards? Drawing a blank on the biggest day in your life? The countdowns begun and … gulp … your overwhelmed with choices.
Here’s mine – Holly Cade Photography
Holly is positive and determined with a great passion towards helping others enjoy their day without feeling frazzled or dazed. I have no doubt that she puts everything she’s got into her photography and skilfully draws out laughter, smiles and confidence. She helped me a lot during our photo shoot together and I’m grateful for her support.
