Get ready for your session with these 5 simple tips …
Step 1 – what to wear
Think simple. Find one perfect article, whether it’s a dress for you or a shirt for your son, and pull colours from that for the rest of the outifts. Coordinating colours look so much more pleasing than identical outifts… please, no groups all in khakis and white tops. Steer away from words on clothing or large logos (we all love Gap, but its logo is not invited to the shoot). Chose a style then build from there… funky or classic? Need help with wardrobe? I’m happy to help, just ask! Check out your “what to wear” style boards.
Step 2 – choose a location near to home
Sessions take place at your home (indoors and outdoors), or at another outdoor location like a local park. If I come to you, we’ll find the best lighting throughout the house and work around it… and don’t worry, I won’t even notice the pile of laundry except to move it out of the frame (I work with children, I get it!). If we travel to a park, we’ll spend some time enjoying the fresh air and capturing those glorious candid moments as well as some classic poses. Let me make beautiful portraits for you.
Step 3 – have fun on the day
It’s an honour to be part of your lives; to see a snap shot of what makes you tick. It’s my job to record your momens together – joyfully. Let me work unobtrusively as you take a walk in the local park, feed the ducks or joke around on the playground equipment. I’ll avoid forced poses or staged photographs; the session will fly by as we enjoy spending time together. The secret to avoiding contrived portraits? Have fun. >>> ask about your session
Step 4 – save time and money when choosing your images
When I got married there was one choice of album, containing 12 images that got put in a draw forevermore. Choosing your photographs can be a little overwhelming. Rather than worrying about what images to choose, I’ll be on hand to guide you. Think about that bare wall space over your children’s bed, an empty photo frame or an anniversay gift you have to find. We’ll pick one or two stylish images for your home, displaying your taste and fits around your existing furnishings effortlessly.
Step 5 – share you memories
You’ll be able to share your images on your popular networking sites and archive your favourite portraits with high-end products. Granny will like boasting books to share with her friends, fridge magnets work well with the children and the home will be the perfect place to show case elegant images to reflect your families’ love. Consider recording milestones and family events by returning for mini-sessions, birthdays and anniversaries.
