Northwood Park Family Portrait Photographer
“Amanda is absolutely brilliant, her photographs are amazing, we were so pleased with the end results. She is friendly and gives lots of ideas during the shoot, which really helps you relax.” Family photography, London
This natural portrait session in Cowes, right by Cowes ferry, is a great example of how your family portrait photographer should be flexible to your needs, leaving you with the confidence that they will take complete control of the session!
Chris and Hannah got in touch after seeing my request for an outgoing family who’d enjoy working with a professional photographer. I wanted to explore a new approach to evoking genuine expressions and connections during a photo shoot (but more of that later).
Chris and Hannah are professional actors for the BBC and beyond (website). The family are on a roll with new film and television roles, with the children recent actors in a Macmillan advert. Yet while the critics love this fun loving family, you can’t help but be impressed with the self-deprecating and humble gravitas Chris exhibits when talking about his past involvement as governor in a local school and success as a local MP.
I believe that spontaneous portraits start from within, it’s a cliche I know, but natural smiles are the best. Therefore, my job is not simply to take your photograph, it’s to put your family at ease, make each and everyone of your tribe get involved and allow me to show the life and love in your family.
Only by delving deep and paying attention to what makes your family tick, will I be able to deliver the portraits that your friends will think are out of this world.
I know you’ll nervously prepare for the day by choosing your best clothes, flattening that stray hair and polishing your shoes, so pick up the phone. As soon as you speak to me, you’ll understand what my secret is! An unrivalled commitment to making the day fun and exciting.
I always arrange to photograph my client a stones throw away from their home because I believe it helps people relax. This park is one of my favourites – it’s reflective of the way people live today. Everyone loves mixing and matching – an outdoors location with a rustic urban grunge? You got it! There are no rules about portraiture any more.
Custom photography with a professional photographer attracts aficianados from all walks of life. People want timeless pictures with a contemporary feel that complement modern homes.
Professional, creative and a natural family photography shoot. Amanda made it a relaxed and fun day capturing some beautiful memories.” Family portrait photography, Isle of Wight
Once we’d finished the experience, it was easy to relax in the park and watch some Frisbee while I packed away and asked how they wanted to present their final prints.
I hope you find these tips helpful and that your next natural portrait session in Cowes is a hoot. I’d love to know which tip you think is the most helpful, your thoughts on the blog and all things photographic!
