Natural Portrait Photography by a Hackney Photographer
1 red dress. 2 new friends. 3 quiet corners in Haggerston Park.
Latasha strides out of Bethnal Green Tube, a broad smile on her face, “Thanks for meeting me!”.
A twinkle in her eyes and a wide hug, “I’m so excited”.
The session starts with a stroll through the park as Latasha describes her passions – loving her family, supporting good friends and travelling the world. Watching excited dogs chasing autumn leaves, calming those first time nerves.
We share our stories – travels in Dubai, the excitement of horse racing and the liberation when you leave home for the first time.
Thank you so much for this amazing photoshoot Amanda. You are an amazing photographer with an exceptional personality which actually helped me relax and feel at ease during the session. Amanda is a dedicated photographer, she is well equipped and prepares an extraordinary set in the outdoors. She checks that everything is in the right place but also makes sure that your true self is put forward.
Heading to our secret garden, Latasha talks about her hopes for the future, a shared passion – women’s empowerment. Finding common ground and exchanging a joke, I knew we’d get along famously (like old friends).
Sharing a favourite corner in Haggerston Park. Explaining why l love to photograph red outfits. Showing the most flattering way to stand for photographs. Laughter bubbles forth as the first pictures are created.
Our goal – natural portraits, easily captured with expressive smiles showcasing Latasha’s enthusiasm for life.
You definitely see her talent as the photo shoot progress, how she knows what pose would bring the best out of you and takes all the time required to make you fabulous. She is also someone who can make you laugh if she wants to with her own laughing and this reminds one that it’s fun to just laugh.
I pause to share a smile as Latasha rests against the textured logs. The soft autumn light creates a luminous glow to her features – simple, natural and relaxed. Fully at ease. Everything we’d planned, coming together perfectly.
Exchanging ideas is such a big part of any creative session. Latasha nattered away, calming those nerves and asked for guidance naturally, shall I wear lip gloss or red lipstick, which side should I put my head, is my coat straight?
Natural poses – it’s easier than you think Guiding Latasha to rest against the vine leaves, gazing upwards to spy weekend end picnics in the park, relaxed portraits captured.
My favourite images are created with people who’ve no modelling experience. Knowing how to confidently communicate simple tips to Latasha is my goal. Why?
- because Latasha commits to her promises, helping people around her.
- she takes time to care about new friends that enter her world.
- her kindness and thoughtfulness speaks for itself.
And when it comes to having fun, Latasha’s there with a ready smile and infectious laughter that makes life feel good.
Moreover, it’s wonderful how she explains to you how the light is important or how your posture is as well important as we would not notice that by ourselves. Facial expression is also important and she has got what it takes to capture it. I personally had a wonderful time getting to know a talented and very kind person today and even if it was cold, it was a one experience because Amanda orchestrated it as such. Thank you again.
My aim is simple – to ensure a truly wonderful experience. I customise each photo session, from the beginning of the shoot right until your items are delivered. My goal is to personally look after you every step of the way. That way I know you’ll get a service that is second to none.
