“Loving the first photos from our photo shoot with Mandy” Victoria Park
Choosing the local park always creates lots of potential for really emotive and dynamic pictures. I met family H. in Victoria Park (here are the first images from the session) and worked efficiently to maintain the right balance between play and work for the children. This is always a delicate balance as children’s interests tends to wane – its important to take lots of breaks and give children time to relax.
London family photography – Victoria Park
My aim was to capture the character and spirit of children for mum who wanted natural pictures she could treasure. Using a local park means we can get amazing pictures almost anywhere without the need for complicated outings. The most important thing to remember when packing for the day is that children are active – a few tissues, hair brush and a colour coat is all that is needed.
Children are so energetic, so I tend to move around easily and adapt quickly. Anything that requires a complicated set up or that needs repositioning every time is going to make things tricky. I like to keep things simple and get up-close to my clients. This is going to give you more intimate portraits (and makes it easier for me to keep their attention).
You’ll probably find me kneeling or lying on the floor to really get down to your children’s level. We certainly ended up pretty muddy by the end of our shoot at the local park! Below are some final candids which are more natural.
