Natural Portraits by an Isle of Wight Photographer
Every time I look through Anna’s poetry, I smile.
Because it resonates with life and sums her up perfectly.
See what I mean (enjoy Ann’s poetry page on FB).
“I will look to love and light and hope and strength”
Positive. Bright. Considered. Ready to face the taunts of the winter weather.
Smiling shyly, Anna beckons me, “Hellooo”. Gathering her bags we stroll through the messy leaves, their burnished colours tarnished by the brisk wind tearing at our clothes.
Anna carries a stylish bag, a promise of carefree elegance. Simply styled outfits with fuss-free accessories.
Just how I imagined.
We start quickly and fall into step spontaneously. Finding a quiet corner we rest, nervous laughter easing the first time jitters. So I invite Anna to play with me by exchanging ideas. Smiles and giggles follow naturally.
Here’s my perfect moment.
Overcoming the challenge of camera-shy tension. I ask Anna to stand like ‘cat-women’. It works (see more of this technique here)!
A strong, confident, assured women looks back at me. One that draws on her light and strength. Poetry transformed into photographs. Right before my eyes.
Which is why these photographs are beautiful.
When people work with me I find a way to sing the song in their heart. Even on a cold winter’s day.
