Teen portraits on Appley Beach
Have you ever booked a portrait session that you immediately dreaded attending? You were nervous about being photographed, but with your mum’s support, you agreed to meet your photographer in Appley Park.
This happened to Izzi when I suggested we meet in Appley Park, Ryde about a portrait session designed around the evening sunset for a dance inspired session. Not only did Izzie blow my mind with her elegance and ability to jump from standing, high into the sky, but she took to modeling like a duck to water.
Being a dancer and performer, Izzi responded to the camera beautifully and I know mum was blown away by the beauty in her daughter’s images.
While Izzi was initially hesitant about what outfit to wear, she poured her heart into each photograph and discovered a new passion for modelling. The excitement is addictive. What originally started out as a simple session with three outfit changes turned into a glorious session full of giggles that covered how to stand elegantly, where to place your hands, how to avoid cheesy smiles and colours to wear to ensure a glowing complexion. My ebooks send ahead of time cover exactly what to expect when booking an Isle of Wight photographer.
Little did I know that I’d fall in love with our sunset photographs with Izzi silhouetted in graceful jumps, turns, and pirouettes? Lots of Izzi’s friends have shared their admiration and have secretly confessed they’d jump at the chance to have their own portrait session in Ryde. By sharing my tips and tricks during our photo shoot I’ve harnessed Izzi’s natural beauty that makes her truly unique, and these portraits show how well we were able to establish trust and empathy in a short space of time.
It’s crazy to think that summer is coming to a close but all the incredible feedback Izzi’s received about her photographs will stay with her for a lot longer. I often get questions about my portraits sessions, so I thought it might be helpful to share a few tips about booking a photographer.

Expressive photographs need trust and I excel at listening to your stories of struggles and fears. When we meet I want to know all the quirky things that make you the incredible person that you are. You’re not just booking a photo session for cheesy photographs with static poses, you’re investing in yourself and trusting a person (hopefully me) who is willing to create magic for you.
